Details of KCRC B10M 408 (GM4875)408 has a characteristic livery of KCRC Light Rail, promoting road safety at LRT crossovers. The B10Ms in bus division of KCRC are used as feeder buses from LRT stations to remote areas in the north-west part of the New Territories. These areas had been served by Kowloon Motor Bus before the Light Rail Transit started in 1988. This bus was photographed on 13 July 2000 at Lau Fau Shan. Lau Fau Shan is famous for its seafood, especially oyster. Many seafood restaurants have been established in the area, like those shown in the picture. If there had not been any 655 bus, holiday makers would find it hard to enjoy seafood there. The seating layout in KCRC single deckers is very different from that of other operators in Hong Kong. The large space amidships accommodates more standees. This directly lead this B10M to the only type of public bus in Hong Kong that the number of standees is greater than the number of seated passengers (B40F+48). Note the "No Smoking" labels on every window. This is a characteristic of Northern Counties bodies. This picture shows the driving position of the B10M. It has typical Volvo dashboard. Note the storage compartments beside the dashboard. Tickets are given or sold to passengers should they need to get a free/discounted change to other feeder bus routes.
