The Civis was a articulated bus fitted with optical guidance by Siemens Transport. It was first announced in 2003. The optical guide system would guide the bus to run on the route through image processing on the marking shown on road along the route. The bus could then be operated without using the steering wheel. Of course, the driver could regain control of the bus at anytime. Bologna, Las Vegas and Castellon were the cities using Civis.
