RVO O 407's serving Kehlsteinhaus Berchtesgaden

Kehlsteinhaus Berchtesgaden (Eagle Nest) was a house built in 1938 on the top of a 1800m high mountain. It was built for Adolf Hitler as his villa house. There is only one 6km narrow road leading to the house from the plain below. After World War II, the house was abandoned. It was refurbished to a tourist spot, with a restaurant in 1952. RVO provided service (Route 49) to transport visitors uphill on this private road. These buses were withdrawn from the route in 2003. Click here for successors - S 315 NF and S 415 NF.
