First introduced in 1987, the O 407 is a full-sized inter-city bus designed by Mercedes Benz. The newer buses are built by Evobus, the bus division of Daimler Chrysler.

Regionalverkehr Oberbayern GmbH operates a large fleet of O407s. They are deployed to provide service in many small towns and tourist sports in Bavaria.
