The last days of DL5 - DL5 on 30 June 1999DL5's licence expired on 30 June 1999. it had been believed to be withdrawn after that day. The photographs below were taken on that day. This picture clearly shows the expiry date of the licence. The yellow sticker on the left means there is discount for senior citizens on board. It is issued by Social Welfare Department. This logo has been replaced by another type in summer 2000. At about 12:00 noon, the bus arrived Chai Wan Bus Terminus. I took the bus. Shortly after it arrived North Point Ferry Pier Bus Terminus, a depot driver drove it away. Farewell, DL5. The behaviour of NWFB officials may not be anticipated. In late August, this bus, together with some other buses of the same type, had their licences reinstated for four months. After that, it became a "goods vehicle" and carried bus stops to Ma On Shan and Tseung Kwan O new towns. Interestingly, it had not been registered as a goods vehicle. Only trade plate was hung outside the bus. Go to Page 5 Return to Page 3 Return to Dennis Dominator 6X2 Condor Page created: 30 September 1999 Last updated: 31 January 2001 |
