Daimler COG5
The Daimler COG5 was the first Daimler diesel-engined chassis. 7-litre Gardner 5 cylinder engine was used. Production of the model started in 1934. About 2,250 COG5 / COG6 chassis were built. Of which, more than 1,800 were fitted with double deck bodies. In addition, these buses were fitted with pre-selective gearbox, which received warm welcome from operators like London Transport. In 1937, Bombay Electric Supply and Tramways purchased a batch of COG5s. The buses were fitted with local bodies. They were the first double deck buses in Mumbai.
