VA63 (HR2439) was the second last Volvo Olympian for China Motor Bus. It had a silver livery. The spaces above the destination equipment had been written "China Motor Bus". The pictures were taken in May or June 1998. Sometimes CMB had double deck Olympians as reserve vehicles for the A20, the only CMB Airport route, but the driver had to alight passengers at the ground floor (arrival area) because the height limit for the departure area on 1/F was only 3m. Unfortunately, on 3 July 1998, when VA63 was allocated to A20, the driver did not recognise that it was an Olympian. The upper deck was wrecked when the bus was driven onto the ramp. Later, the upper deck was rebuilt by Guangzhou Cityview bodywork. it had returned to CMB just before it was purchased by New World First Bus on 1 September 1998.

VA55 (HP3851) was photographed in May 1998 on Des Voeux Road Central.
