China Motor Bus K5LA7 in exhibition

HK104 is the first bus preserved by any operators in Hong Kong. It was first registered in 1950 and retired in 1967. It then became a withdraw room for drivers at Wan Chai ferry Pier Bus Terminus. In the 1980s, China Motor Bus Co. preserved this bus and painted it in this deep red colour. The photographs above and below were taken on 10 April 1993 at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. The bus has now been painted in bright red. Note that the flat lamp has been retained, althugh some KMB buses had already been replaced with Locus pre-focus units.
