684 (BMZ537) is the first 17.223 HOCL for urban service in Christchurch. It was introduced in September 2003. The "Metro" on the roof tells passengers that the bus is equipped with the newly developed Metrocard smart card system, which reduces the use of cash or buying ticket from driver.
