The N4426/3 was a newer version to the N4026/3. Kowloon Motor Bus purchased 50 buses with Euro 2 engines and 32 buses with Euro 3 engines. The first two buses with Euro 3 engines were of a special green colour, which would change its colour when you view it at different angles.

In 2003, a 2.55m N 4426/3 was also introduced. It was based on the MAN ND 313 / ND 363 chassis.
