The 13.220 belongs to the MAN A53 series. The chassis is for medium sized bus / coach. The principal operator for this type of bus was Tai Fung Motors. They purchased a batch of more than 20 buses around 1998. All buses were fitted with Asia body copied from Mitsubishi MS. Discovery Bay Transport Services Limited also purchased two buses with local China Kong bodies as Airport buses. Amisto Travel Service Limited purchased one bus with Berkhof Axial 30 bodywork in 2002. Ready Chance purchased two China Kong bodied buses in early 2003. Sun Bus also operates a small number of 13.220s. Hong Kong Police also purchased one bus in late 2002 and converted it to a Road Safety Bus. A53 chassis has ceased production and it is superseeded by the new A67 chassis. The A67 series available in Hong Kong is 16.280.
