In late 1990s, when super low floor buses had been available in market, a number of operators in New Zealand have introduced MAN SLF buses with Designline bodies into their fleets. In Christchurch, Red Bus purchased 23 buses (B39D) during 1998 and 1999, whereas Leopard took 5 buses (B29D) in 1999 for Orbiter Service.
