In mid-1998, Tai Fung Coach Company Limited, a subsidiary of Kwoon Chung Bus Group, bought 13 MAN 10.160 midibuses with Volgren CR221L bodies in 1998. They were hired by Mass Transit Railway for its free service to and fro Airport Express Link stations in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island and hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. 8 of these buses were sold to Bayline, a New Zealand operator in Tauranga, a city some 200km southeast of Auckland with about 95,000 inhabitants, through the local dealer there in 2003. The buses are now referred to as 11.160, with refurbishment for the interior to a B29F bus and improvement to the braking system. 6 of them will enter urban service by late February 2004 and HV2077 and HU3768 may just be used for parts.
