Dennis Javelin is a long-lived mid-engine chassis specially designed for coach operation. More than 2500 units are built. Although the R series chassis is replacing the type, there are still orders for this chassis so that it continued production. A large variety of bodies can be fitted to the chassis, including builders in Britain and overseas. Malaysia ordered a good number of buses as luxurious coaches. However, owing to the economic turmoil around 2000 and the bankruptcy of many operators there, the chassis were eventually sold to New Zealand.
