After the introduction of East Lancashire bodied DD1, China Motor Bus ordered 6 more Alexander bodied Dominators SD1-SD6). They were generally deployed to Route 15 to the peak to replace the underrated Leyland Fleetline FE30AGRs.

But in 1997, Fleetlines replaced these overused Dominators when the six bus were withdrawn.

During 1983-84, Kowloon Motor Bus ordered  a total of 40 9.5m Dennis Dominators along with 12m Dragons. These buses receive Duple Metsec body kits. All these buses have been withdrawn by the end of October 2001.

In United Kingdom, Dominator was not as popular as its counterparts Metrobus and Olympian.
