Leyland Panthers in Australia and New Zealand

Saint's Peakhurst Bus and Coach in New South Wales operated m.o.8561, an ex-Brisbane City Council Athol Hedges (B39D+43) bodied bus. Note the evaporative cooling hood on the roof, sliding windows and lantern style windscreens. Photo courtesy: Derek Cheng.

A total of 10 PSUR1.1 Panthers were supplied to Dunedin in 1969. They were bodied by Emslie, a local bodybuilder which built bodies for many Leyland and Nissan buses for Dunedin during 1960's and 1970's. Ex-Dunedin 148 (DP6432) has been purchased by The Party Bus Company. It was photographed in Auckland in November 2000. Photo courtesy: Keith Rapley.

Perth, Australia purchased 125 Panthers from 1970 to 1973. One of the second hand example was photographed in Perth in May 2002.
