After a fire caused by the battery when it was serving route 1A in mid-1990s, the bus was re-bodied by a newer version of Alexander R-type body. It has been built to KMB Volvo Olympian Standard. The photographs above were taken at Kowloon City Ferry Pier Bus Terminus in early 1999. AL118 was photographed again on 8 May 2000 on Ma Tau Chung Road.
