In order to install air-conditioning units in new buses, operators in Hong Kong always choose 3-axle buses, irrespective of their length. In 1993, when Citybus acquired 26 southern routes on Hong Kong Island from Citybus, they bought a batch of 34 10.4m Olympians so as to provide air-conditioned double decker service on routes on Wong Nai Chung Road and Stanley. These buses have very good manoevurability and are very suitable on Hong Kong's narrow and curved roads. They have good reputation for their reliability and performance.
