To Leyland, the name "Leopard" was first used as early as mid-1920s. But I am not referring the pre-war models here, I am introducing the post-war Leopards. The Leopard is a medium-weight chassis developed in late 1950s. It first appeared at the 1959 Scottish Show. The Leopards had received warm welcome until 1980s. They were built to buses and coaches. 28 Leopard PSU3E.2Rs were sold to Dunedin City Transport. They were bodied by New Zealand Motor Bodies. The front end of the frame was specially lowered to facilitate entry and exit.
