Daimler Freeline

Photographs

The Daimler Freeline is a single deck bus model developed in the 1950's. The domestic market did not accepted this model very well, but it became the favourite model of Auckland Transport Board. A total of 160 buses (201-290, 501-570) were shipped to Auckland in 1953. They received Saunders-Roe 'Rivalory' body (B44D). Power was driven by a Daimler D650HS engine horizontally located in the middle.
