Kowloon Motor Bus Company has been promoting the routes on Nathan Road since 3 May 1999 by the creature above. it is named "九巴仔". It has no official English name. However, from KMB's Homepage, it can be traced that the English name of the creature is "Captain KMB".

On 31 May 1999, the company organised a show in Star Ferry Pier Bus Terminus, Tsim Sha Tsui. This bus (AD7315, D409, 30552) has been repainted to this attractive pink livery, which originally wore cartoon livery after it was converted to an open-top bus on 2 April 1992. Four singers and a director of KMB held the parade. Note carefully and you will find an imitated creature was standing on the upper deck.

KMB has reconstructed a flight of stairs and a characteristic bumper to the vehicle.
