Bristol VRT Mk III in Auckland

I apologise for the poor quality of the pictures above. The first two were taken on street in the evening and the last one was taken from a coach. 124 (XP6840) is a Bristol VR (VRTSL3/6G). It was new to East Midland Motor Services, which, at the time, was based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The company is now a small part of Stagecoach Holdings. The bus has a Gardner 6LXC engine and an Eastern Coachworks body, the actual chassis was driven from the Bristol factory in the City of Bristol to Lowestoft which is on the East coast of the UK for the body to be fitted (over 300km)! This bus is currently a member of Stagecoach Auckland, providing free services in the city centre. These pictures were taken on 13 February 2000.

Acknowledgement: Mark Bennett for the recognition of the bus.
